This I think was the best screening in Rio. The students at this state university had organised it very well, and a woman who was helping us organise paid for a bus to bring students from a state school. This also included two of Italo's (son in the film) former teachers. They were so overwhelmed that when it came to talking afterwards one of them could hardly get her words out. She was saying what a nice boy Italo is. She said the film is a work of art and should be shown everywhere. When we say it did not get in any festivals in Brazil they get pissed off. A woman from Rocinha was there and she said it is the best film she has seen about favela life. Very cool people, such nice vibe afterwards. Many people talking about how the near future seems dark for Brazil but that it is crucial to resist what is happening.
